Red light and Low Level-Laser light (LED) Therapy

Hello Bridge Connection Readers.

It’s November already! Almost time to get the sprinkler on for those dogs and gardens. For those who love swimming, hopefully Lake Eppalock doesn’t have to many days closed with Blue-Green algae, which is highly poisonous to dogs and people. Sadly, the Toxin has NO antidote when Poisoning occurs so always watch for warnings on g-mwater.com.au and if it looks stagnant and dodgy forget it.

LLPetsHealth held a Canine Conditioning Come and Try day that was held at the Redesdale Recreational Reserve in September.

What an amazing day it was, Redesdale really turned on its perfect and beautiful weather for us!

The dogs all had a blast learning new skills, the people had a good laugh and the atmosphere was ideal.

There was a range of attendees, from beautiful senior dogs, dogs with old injuries, dogs learning new skills, and even had a quite a number of highly trained dogs and trainers from The Bendigo Obedience club!

Such a great bunch of people and amazing dogs, Thank-you to all of those who attended.

The months topic will be on Red-Light and Near Infrared light therapy. Which is also called Photo biomodulation therapy.

Recently I’ve added Red-Light therapy to my Complementary Therapy Modalities after a number of clients showed interested over the past few months.

In all honesty, I tried and practiced on myself first being skeptical. I am hesitant to use products on dogs that I haven’t tried myself, even with Scientific evidence and undergoing training proving its validity.

I could literally feel a gentle pulsing and recognized a penetrating warmth deep into my body, which feels completely unique and different to what it does with heat and cold therapy devices.

I was pleasantly surprised at the results even after the first session on both myself and then clients. I am so glad I have added it, some of the results so far have been almost unbelievable. It can be used from skin, muscle and even bone conditions.

It relieves pain and increases the bodies healing ability by increasing Collagen production to the site. Collagen is one of the most important and essential protein in the body of all animals. Luckily Collagen is not only produced by a dogs’ body but it can also be absorbed and digested through the food they eat such as sardine, crocodile, uncooked bones other seafoods.

I personally have Premium Bovine Collagen Peptides in my store, and use for my dogs and pets. There is also a great product called Methylsulfonylmethane aka MSM that actually increase the bodies’ ability to create its own collagen which also can assist with the bioavailability of Collagen and other nutrients. It can come with contraindications with Pharmaceuticals so always advise your vet when your pets on supplements.

If nerding out on Chemical Compounds is your thing, I highly recommend investigating the research and scholarly articles around this product especially how it works within the atmosphere and how it actually benefits plants, crop and in turn livestock growth.

The therapeutic wrap that I am using is an effective entry Level wrap and has Red-Light (RL) and Infrared LED Lights (NIL) that run at the same time and with 4 strengths.

The different strengths are to focus on the unique layers of the body and how deep the penetration is required, to which the infrared penetrates more affectively at deeper levels.

RT and IL Increases the blood flow, assists in regulation of the nervous system, stimulates the recovery process in nerves, muscles, fascia, skin layers and Joints, which all works into pain reduction.

Time length varies on each animal, their coat, ailment and ability to tolerate the wrap, 5-10mins is often all each joint and region requires for best results. Each client that has undergone this therapy has actually shown a reduction in pain directly post therapeutic session.

Last interesting fact… They have conducted studies about Near Infrared lights and cognition and Dementia which concluded that it improves cognition and brain function and reduces severity of symptoms.

This means that if you are accessing Near Infrared light therapy for your 4-legged friend it may also reduce and prevent symptoms and severity and possible even slow the onset. For further information on the dementia PUBMED website is a great resource.

Please give me a call if you would like to discuss a consult on 0431 221 604.

Big pats for all your pets,
